Tinkering With the B

So Last night decided to get the 42 john Deere B out, so it can see the light of day once again.
Haven't moved it since last October, & needle & seat was sticking on then.. So Cleaned up the carb
inside & check the float reassembled & checked on the bench again seemed OK.. Reinstalled it &
connected up new 6V Battery, Figured I'd check for spark before cranking it & looked good, reinstalled
the plug & tightening up with my fingers must of leaned pushed or turned the flywheel wheel a tad but
it was enough to make the impulse snap. I think The shock off the end of the wire from my index finger
to the elbow on the opposite arm, HOLY FREAKEN COW... Yep Good spark, Popped right off...

My father was a "get it done" and "it's just pain, it won't hurt you" fellow. When he "checked" a mag he'd hold onto the wire with one hand, spit on the fingers of the other and lay them on an unpainted engine or frame area and have me kick it over. I wouldn't do that on a bet! 'Course he'd lived in hard times, but I never saw why he needed to reminded that way. Maybe I should have white feathers and a gizzard, but I am too chicken.

Believe me this episode in my life wasn't planned.. Get bit by a Mag once in life is enough, thought I learned this
lesson long ago? We needed the ole B to rake some hay, making hay at both farms & would rather rake hay with the B
instead of My Little M + the M has the Cultivators on it presently. The B ran prefect yesterday raking , round baler
on one farm & square on the other, must say I missed the float ride seat of the 530. In fact I think the only one that
didn't get used yesterday was the Little M. 2750 & 3255 ran the round balers, 620 square baler, hauled square bales with
both 60's, Moved & hauled round bales with 630 & 730 & the old 44 A I resurrected & still in progress .

How many of you guys have leaned into the spark plug of a running unstyled A while looking into the gas tank to check the fuel level.
