Stuck engine to clutch housing ! I manual and did what it said to split .When I raise floor jack on the hyd oil sump on back half I can get it to crack open on the top half of the housing about 3/8 in but the bottom wont give much . It is 1971 4020 syncro . I must have something sticking on the clutch splines and shaft . I know all bolts are out as I can pass a wire around the edges . I can get it open enough too see the alignment pins. HELP

And If you "did" get the 6 pan bolts out and it is still stuck go up through the bottom and remove the 6 clutch cover bolts and let the clutch go back with the rear half, then file the input shaft clean and slide the clutch plate off,,,I have seen the clutch shaft get Buggered up and not want to slid e through the clutch disc...it gives you a spring action..

How dumb could I be ! Thanks to your replies on my post plus that of a friend that I FOUND the 2 bolts at the very bottom of the pan . Thank the good Lord I did not break anything (that I am not aware of at this time). I am going to wash it up this morning and see what I need to order.

A lousy mechanic I am . Thanks to you folks help I removed the 2 bottom bolts on the oil pan ! Thanks be to God I did not break any thing !I am in too much of a rush to get some hay down and missed crawling under there a looking closer . I might need some further coaching when I get the parts.
