ITS DONE!! Needed a puller to remove the fixed drive disc and went to my local JD dealer and they let me borrow one. Talked me threw the process of making it work for me and even loaned me the bolts to make it work. Even gave advice as to how to adjust the clutch. Took the 530 for a spin and worked fantastic! None of new parts I used were from JD. Van Wall JD in SE Iowa. Some dealers still care!

Yes there are a few like that still. Mine will loan me a few tools and the service manager is great about advice. We even have a new younger fellow at the parts counter that does a great job even with my old 1960's stuff. Tom

You are very fortunate to have a dealer like that....buy them a coffee.
Our local dealer WAS like that, when they quit that style of business, I quit too.

Surprises me that he would do such without your parts sale.

I'm sure the dealer had nothing to do with it,, the service rep was the source of the help, and I'm surprised he knew anything about a 530 clutch..If you mention 530 to one of the guys at the local dealership around here he would thing you were talking about a half hour after quitting time.....

At the time of my visit they actually had a JD 830 2 cyl in the shop with the clutch tore apart. The shop foreman and parts guy were the 2 that helped me out.

Our dealership leader told the service managers not to let anything older than a 60 series into the shop,,said they didn't want old Junk taking up shop space...it helped to keep my shop busy...this guy is a highly arrogant self righteous individual..

Important thing on those clutches is the release adjustments....
