Swartz wide front

Have searched the archives here and do not see the issue I want addressed. Why use a Swartz wide front especially if something else is available . Recently viewed a 30 series two cylinder with a swartz wide front and heard another guy tell the owner he would get a lot more for it if he put it back as original. I am thinking I will just remove it and replace with a rollomatic removed from my 70D but is there some reason that was not done? Knowing the swartz attaches differently than the john deere options I am wondering if there is damage from a loose rollomatic as I have seen that on a neighbors 3020. Always looking for that hidden snake in the grass (maybe just paranoid from being previously bitten by said snake) . LOL

"why use Schwartz..." probably because someone wanted a wide front, but had a narrow front and couldn't aford to buy a genuine JD. If a tractor is a "user" it is going to be more valuable to the buyer if it is set up the way he wants it. If a collector may be more valuable with the original front end. Some people like a wide front and others like the tricicle front.

Schwartz was a cheap alternative to replace a tricycle.
There were a lot of 4020 tricycles sold because farmers
were used two cylinder tricycles. When they decided they
wanted wide fronts Deere's were to expensive.

I guess also depends on availability. There are very few factory wide fronts for any two cylinder in hundreds of miles. Was to hard to to get a row cultivator on them. A Schwartz is a really good setup. I am not sure about it effecting the value of the tractor or if they are heavy enough for a loader but they drive nice and were affordable. You can still buy a new Schwartz front from a and i. About $2500/

We have a 60 with a Norden Wide frt, it works OK & a Swartz on 630 & it seems to turn Sharper than the Norden. The 730 is a square John Deere
& it turns about the same as the Swartz.. Old Model AW is a round tube stile & doesn't turn as sharp as the Norden.
