Model R Oil leak

Got the JD R running yesterday. Starting motor for the pony had quit so removed, rotated 180 degrees, and reinstalled the field copper bolt on the starter. Then with the hood off cranked the pony and observed air and gas bubbles on the fuel valve - pony would not start. So disassembled valve and put in new O-ring. Starting motor roared to life. Had to lubricate the starting clutch linkage... I guess it has been awhile... then the diesel ROARED to life. As it sat there idling we tried to determine the source of the oil on the engine block coming from under the pony motor casting. I also engaged the hydraulic pump. Mopped the block dry and after a few minutes it would have a small slick developing. This has been going on for a while based on previous oily mud accumulation. Surprising what turns up from running engine without a hood.

My question is any ideas where the oil is coming from? Tractor is used very infrequently but I did have a little disking to do hence the hydraulic in gear. I could do it (the motor is not going to run out of oil at current leakage rate, even if it is hydraulic) and I will get tired before that happens. We have a few other seepage points (seals I suspect) but I suspect this is either a failed seal or gasket that should be fixed.
