2630 pump upgrade and pressure controll valve

Several years ago I replaced the 1.38 ci pump with the 2.4 ci pump on my 2630 FEL tractor, in the last year or so I have had trouble with the loader hydraulics losing function when the tractor is idled for more then a min or after it gets hot in either case you can regain hydraulic function by reving up the tractor and keeping it at a high rpm. While trying to diagnose I checked the valves for heat and found the pressure control valve got quite hot while the tractor was just parked in neutral and not using any hydraulic function and while looking at the valve in the tech and parts book I saw they use a different valve and a "stop" in the pressure control valve that was meant to be used with the 2.4 ci pump then what is used in the 1.38 ci pump. My question is do you need to "upgrade" the pressure control valve when the pump is upgraded and if this could be the cause of my problems? any and all thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I think JD engineers had different pressure control valve for different pumps for a reason so I'm going to state yes you need the correct valve for higher output pump. I'll also suggest to be sure hyd filter relief valve isn't stuck open.

Does loader have ind control valve? If so is it the convertible type from open center to closed center? If it is convertible I suggest to remove return hose from tractor & operate engine with hose open to see if any oil exits open hose with spools in neutral.

in the end the I pulled off the rockshaft and the problem was the o-ring seals for the rockshaft valve were shot and apparently allowing oil thru continuously causing the pressure control valve to get hot from the constant flow of oil and putting a constant demand on the pump. I did also swap out the pressure control valve to the proper one.
