Deere 531 in 5020-turning it up?

Hello, sorry if this question has been asked before, but I?ve
been searching and can?t seem to find the answer. I?ve got a
5020 with the 531 in it. It has a intercooler and turbo on it.
Long story short, I?d like to pull it once and wondering how to
turn it up or if I can be turned up? Thank you in advance
 
If it is the stock engine with turbo and inter cooler added on you will have a rotary pump. If this is the case google the install instruvtions for a Banks sidewinder kit, pretty good write up with pictures on how to increase fueling in a newer style DB2 pump which is very similar. But I would guess you have a replacement motor with an inline Bosch A series pump. I have never messed with one of those.

I am not sure what your up against but just turning up the pump will not let you run with a 1066 that has been worked on at all. If you are only going to do it one time I would suggest to run it as is. You will have just as much fun or more as you will get a longer ride by pulling in a lower gear. If you want to get serious with a chance to compete send your pump and injectors off to a shop to be built up with some bigger/better parts and look for a bigger turbo, then hang on.
 
That?s a good point, thank you for that information. I have the old Rosa rotary pump on my 5020. Engine tag says m33ro- 019482r, so I?m sure it?s a 531 with just a add on intercooler and turbo like the 6030?s? I?m guessing anyways. This is my first 5020 I?ve ever had so I?m still learning on it anyways. Like you said, maybe I?ll just run it how it is now and it might be a good project for this winter anyways.
 
If the pump still has the shims behind the leaf spring, it won't turn up any. It will need taken apart to remove the limiting shims. There's also four different sized leaf springs available for different roller to roller settings.
