JD 1010 / 2010 Engine Questions

So I went and picked up a 1010 crawler with the gas engine and have a couple of questions. It looks to me that it has a 2010 manifold on it. And the head was replaced not too long ago as it is still cast-lock gray. So 1.) Is it possible that a 2010 head would work on the 1010 block and sleeve deck?
2.) Would the 2010 manifold fit on the 1010 head?
I did look up and see that the blocks for the two engines have the same casting # so that does not help and the block that is in the machine appears to be original in my opinion.
This is the first "new generation" I have owned. I did get it running with all new ignition parts and I plan to go through the TSX860 carb, which is the correct carb, and it runs really nice.
If the parts are indeed interchangeable should I even worry about it?

Heads should interchange.

On the late series 1010 / 2010 both gas engines used the same casting numbers on the block, but different parts numbers.

I can not confirm this, but I think these blocks were casted the same and when they machined them they machines the bores accordingly if it was for a 1010 or a 2010. Look in the parts manual as the 1010 / 2010 also has a different size O-ring to seal the sleeve and deck. This is how I am basing my opinion on being machine according to the specific model.
