When driving and you push the clutch in the tractor comes to a stop quickly. If you are on a slight incline with the clutch pushed in the tractor will not roll. I jacked up the tractor and unhooked the MFWD shaft. It is hard to turn both rear tires, the right side is slightly worse. I pulled the screen and there was nothing alarming on it. Oil is clean. I ran the tractor when it was in the air the left side will spin and the right side will hardly turn. Could I be looking at a brake issue on both sides? A warped disc or something? I didnt really want to pull a final drive for nothing. Anyone had this issue? Thank you.

It's the self adjusters for the brakes check with your dealer there's a solution to address that, you do have to pull the final drives for that

If you open the brake bleeders WITHOUT the pedal depressed, is there oil flow/pressure, and do the brakes release with the bleeders open?

I opened the bleeders without brake depressed and there was no oil or pressure. I left it open and tried to turn the wheel and same thing.

430wlpg There is not self adjusters on these type of hydraulic brakes. They are just a circular piston that pushes against the brake plate that looks like a clutch disk that rides on the axle,

Since you loosened the bleeders and did not have any oil flow that it more than likely is the brake disk themselves. To make doubly sure loosen the brake lines. I have seen a lot of plugged bleeders. The brake valve pressurizing with the pedals up is the easiest thing to fix. If there is zero flow to the brakes with the lines loose and the !!!tractor running!!! then the trouble is more than likely in the brake cylinder/disk area.

How old is the tractor and how long have you had it???? If someone used low grade hydraulic oil in it the linings on the brake disks may have came off and stacked up. Also if someone road the brakes they can overheat even oil cooled brakes disks. This can warp the disks to where they will drag even when released. Either way it sounds like your going to be pulling the final drives off to check/repair the brakes.

I pulled the left final drive. The o-ring has rust stains on it. There is a rust stain all the way around the housing where the o-ring seats. Im going to replace the discs and return springs with the updated parts. Hopefully it will solve my problems.

Yes there is they are rollpins with snap rings on them that move as the disks wear and the early ones fit too tight and wouldn't release properly there is a Dtac solution for updated parts list seen this many times in our dealership sho
