The lift arms stuck in the up position. The first time this happened I had no idea what to do. I removed the trans top. I could see nothing broken, or missing. I reinstalled the top, and the lift arms operated ok. Up and down fine. This happened a second time. Removed the top again, and reinstalled the top every thing worked fine. Now a month later the same thing. This happened going over rough ground making the mower bounce the lift arms. I know this is what's causing something to come unhooked. In my last post when this happened, mention was made of loosing the nut under the filler cap, and moving the screw on the cam follower adjusting screw. Do I screw the screw in our out? Will this put more tension on the internal parts to keep this from happening again? I should have done something the second time, but I thought this will not happen again. I have a manual it shows the cam follower. I don't see how it can pop out of place unless it becomes disconnected sideways. Appreciate any help (really)

A thought on my problem. If I set the control lever with a little up pressure, maybe that will keep the arms from bouncing. Stan

My guess is L/D cam inside rockshaft housing is getting out of correct position in rockshaft control linkage. If what I think is true changing location of screw you referred to will be of no benefit to you. IMHO the only time the screw you mentioned should be tampered with is when following the L/D control linkage adjustment procedures outlined in a D 401 B tech manual. I presume rate of drop screw under seat is opened a little.

Even an I & T manual should outline the adjustment procedure for that 3 pt. As I said before I'd start by doing that procedure.
