John Deere 567 baler issues

My neighbor has does my baling for me. He has a John Deere 567 mega wide, silage special baler with cover edge wrap. Yesterday was the first time he had to change the net wrap. The baler worked fine before we changed rolls. Now we are having problems with net wrap wrapping properly. He wasn't wrapping at all. I think this was because we hadn't threaded the wrap correctly. Then we tried one more bale before dark and it made a big rip in the wrap and the bale was busting out. What could be the cause of this?? Does cover edge need the plastic spacers in the ends of the rolls??

Need more info but my 1st guess is netwrap is routed incorrectly. Buildup of hay between netwrap attachment & forming belts can cause tear in netwrap on bale. What type hay are you attempting to bale.

Go online and look at this:

Also, on a new roll, it helps for some reason to put some baby powder on the rubber roller. You only have to do it once when loading new wrap or if the roller got wet/really damp.

I had tons of problems with netwrap on another brand baler, but the john deere netwrap system works really well with few problems if you load it correctly.

I will second the thought that he has it threaded wrong. There should be a decal right in the rear when mesh wrap door is open, showing the correct way to thread the baler. While your checking this out also pull 10 foot or so of the mesh of the new roll. I have gotten two bad rolls this year. They would not pull smoothly on the one, it pulled two hard. The other was wrapped in such away it tore as it was feeding. So make sure the mesh comes off the roll evenly and does not catch.

Are you using good quality net wrap? I just bought a 469, but before that, I had a Vermeer. I didn't have a lick of trouble with Vermeer wrap, but had loads of trouble when I used some "other" brand wrap bought for the hardware store in town.
