steering adjustment on 1941 B

just bought a 1941 B JD and the steering seems to be loose the wheels wooble going down the road in road gear is there a way to adjust the steering gears. thanks

You will have to adjust the eccentric bushing under the sector gear. First remove the screw that holds the eccentric bushing and rotate it to take up the play in the gears. When doing this, rotate the wheels to the right. Rotate the bushing until it is snug, then replace the screw. Don"t adjust the bushing with the wheels straight ahead, because most of the wear is in the center of the worm shaft. This would cause it to be too tight when you turn left or right. There is a lot more to consider, but this will get you started to solve the problem
