JD 535 Baler

Hello, I have a 535 baler which the gate just started coming unlatched on the right side. It comes apart about an inch. I know it could be a Hydraulic issue...but have heard that in many cases it is not... Ive seen that some have just added shims to where the latch is. But no details on how to do that. I when to JD dealership and asked them, and the parts people knew nothing about what shims the forums were talking about. If anyone knows about this, can you let me know what I can try?

The shims that were referred to in the past on this forum are in your photo(see below). The gate latch dragging over the shims while opening gate bends them so loosen nut holding shims then remove bent shims then straighten with a hammer. With gate closed & no hay in baler place straightened shims in frt of bracket removing excess slack between gate latch & metal plate. Shimming gate latch will help help stop "gate open light" from coming on prematurely BUT WILL NOT stop gate from opening prematurely due to a hyd problem.
