Are 3020 and 4020 diesel rocker arms the same part number

That just happens sometimes with age. The new ones from Deere are made different and much stronger now. I broke one on my 4020 10 or so years ago and that tractor never had either. I ordered a set of the new style ones and stuck a used one on to get back going and the set of new ones are still here in the shop. Tom

My 4020 broke a bolt that holds the rocker arm clamp and it messed up about 6 rocker arms I kept the best ones and I had one new one that just happened to be the one i needed

Are the plugs on your rocker shaft the rubber style?

If so, I'd recommend replacing them while you're this far unless they've been done recently.......

It's no fun when they shrink from old age & start migrating up the shaft cutting off oil to a portion of the valve train. LOL

No snake oil used on these premises.....LOL

The hardening / shrinkage is just something that happens after 40 - 50 years, +/-, of service.

I honestly didn?t look but I?m sure they are but I didn?t have
any and I wanted to get it back together and I would have had
to wait for parts
