I wish I had checked

I will try to get to the point. Put new radiator core in my 52 A. It was apart for a year inside basement garage. The air stack was on the floor. It is now hard to start and does not run right (not before the repair) I have feeling a mouse may have built a nest in the air stack. Here is what happens: Hard to start, lot of smoke, oil drips out of vent tube going to valve cover, oil drips out of rubber hose connecting carburetor, took off oil bath cup and a lot(a lot) of oil came out of the air mesh filter. Doesn't this sound like the air passage is blocked? What do you think? As you know, the hood has to come off to check it. I even put some smoke at the top of the air stack to see if it would suck it in. It was hard to tell.

I held my hand over the opening with the oil cup off and did not feel any vacuum. I can see clearly through the air cleaner up to the top of the air cleaner. The section going down to the carburetor may be clogged.
