JD720 diesel Injectors vs. 820 diesel Injectors

I bought a 720 diesel cylinder head (F3511) from a machine shop that was rebuilt but never paid for by the owner. Head was planed, valves ground, etc. However, when I insert 720D injectors in it they are loose. The diameter of the hole in the head and the diameter of the injector body do not match up. They also cannot be tightened properly with the injector clamp. Could it be that the head was rebuilt to accept 820 injectors???? Does anyone know if the body diameter on the 820 injector is larger than the 720D injector???

Only the R had an undersized injector bore. The rest of the two cylinder diesels share the same injector bodies . Tips varied from 5X10 thou, 6X10thou and 6X12 thou iirc .

B&D....thanks! This is a "head scratcher" as the machine shop that rebuilt the head said they did not do anything to the injector hole bores. I will probably end up putting the original F1958R head back on the 70 diesel standard I'm working on. Wasted time and a new head gasket :(

Not very many of the original thinwall - small valve 70 diesel head castings left in service .
When it is apart I would keep looking for another 720/730 head .
