Fuel problems with 5020 John Deere

My 5020 will run fine at 1500 rpm or less but when it is idled up it is like it is starving for fuel. I am wondering if this would be my lift pump.

when was fuel filters changed.? check the fuel pump, disconnect line and do a flow check on it. plus do a pressure reading. then you know.

I agree on how long since fuel filter was changed. Also check for good fuel flow from tank to inj pump. Check to be sure tank is venting by temporarily removing fuel cap & covering fuel tank neck opening with a shop towel then start engine. It's also possible the check valve that return line attaches to on inj pump is clogged. Simple test is loosen both screws on timing window on IP,pry gasket loose from pump housing. Start engine & if engine will accelerate check valve is clogged indicating inj pump repair is eminent.

I replaced the fuel filters today and there was a little increase in the run time at 2000 rpm. I will try that next. Thank you guys very much for you knowledge and imput.
