Hi I have a industrial 400 backhoe about 65 model. it the early 80s I switched out the old motor for a new 4039D normally aspirated. The motor starts and runs great. keep this in mind when answering my question not long ago I started getting Diesel in my crank case oil. So I checked my manual primary fuel pump it checked out fine but I replaced it any ways. I still get fuel in my oil my only other thought is the shaft seals on my Stanadyne injector pump are leaking fuel into the case. How much trouble is it to change those seals and is there another way for the diesel to get into the crankcase that I may be missing. I ruled out rings, cracks, gaskets etc because it runs to good and there are no other issues other than diesel contaminating my oil
Thanks

There's only 3 ways diesel fuel can enter engine crankcase. Faulty lift pump, inj pump shaft seal or bad injector. Injector pump seals aren't difficult to replace especially if one has access to a seal installation tool. Be sure to put engine on compression stroke cyl #1 before removing the IP
