I?m getting ready to put some 13.6x38?s on my g and trying to see what is better. I want American made tires other than price the Firestone?s
ate 1500 for a set and the Goodyear?s are just under 1000 for a set. Tractor is going to b mainly a trailer princess and going to some tractor
shows parades pulls and plow days. I just want to make sure I get a set that will last a long time. I realize I maybe opening up a can of worms
here but any input would be great.

I have never had any good luck with Firestone tires on any thing. Plus being cheap like I am since the firestones cost a lot more I would go wit h the good year tires. As far as being made In the U.S. I'm not sure either brand is. I know firestone and bridge stone tires are some how one and the same

I put Carlisle 15.5/38 8 ply on my 60. drove it to the shop....$1370 total. New tires and tubes plus labor.
I think he quoted me about$70 a tire less for 13.6/38.

I would go with the firestones as titan tire owns goodyear. I had new set of titans on the front of a 7810 that were wore out in less than 200 hours and the back set wouldn't hold air overnight on new rims. When I had them warranted and replaced with firestones the back titans had a total of 9 breaks in the sidewalls and that was with no heavy weight or hard pulling. No one in my area will buy titans.

I run Firestone on all my tractors-trucks. I like USA products. If it's a show tractor you will never wear it out. Miller Tire has a Crop Max that is the old Firestone mold.Look at Miller pictures. But it's made overseas. I bought one recently to match a new Firestone for a show tractor and it matches. Just has Crop Max where Firestone was. I bought it from a local tire dealer and saved $$$$.

John, while i agree with you that goodyear sucks and i woudnt buy them either, it is not true that titan owns goodyear. goodyear has an agreement with titan that titan will produce certain ag tires using goodyear molds and sidewall stamps using what is suppose to be goodyear standards on compounds and recipes etc etc

Yes, it is true - Titan purchased the Goodyear ag tire line in 2005 but have maintained the
Goodyear brand under a license agreement.

My pulling tractor model 70 use only F/R Firestone's Miller tire has that tread now from Crop Max using Firestone molds. Tried Goodyears one year no traction. The new Firestones are the same tread long bar short bar same as Goodyears.

Thanks for all of the input. I will check out miller tire to see what they have. From what it seems Firestone AG tires are a lot better than truck tires (I could never get more than 20k out of a set of light truck tires always switched the tires right over to michilins.)

My '96 F-250 PSD came with Firestone SteelTex AT tires, I ran them 93,000 miles, replaced them with Firestone Wilderness AT's, ran them 127,000 miles.

You ever get 127,000 miles on any of your Michelins?

I can say ive never gotten more thank 50k out of any tire here in Arizona, but from my experience Firestone Light Truck tires are the worst when it comes to towing, longevity, comfort and wear but then again that's my own option. All I run is Defender LTX tires, now the LTX A/T2 are a different story and are junk espically if you have a live axle on the front end of your truck and cupping and wheel hop is huge issue, but I haven't owned a live axle truck in a while and have been driving GMC Diesels for the last 4 years ever since my six leaker blew up..
