John Deere M Hydraulic pump

Hi, I wrote awhile ago about getting hydraulic oil in the crankcase of my M. I bought a gasket and seal and took off the hood, grill, generator and disconnected the lines into the pump. The repair book I have says to take off the the gas tank, steering arm etc. Do I really have to do all that? Do I need to take off the radiator? It looks like the pump is held on by a few allen bolts. Any advice would be very appreciated. thanks.

I pulled the radiator, if I remember right it's just too tight to get to everything without. Kept the gas tank on, I unbolted a coupling in the steering and pulled the shaft back out of the way.

I pulled the pump, did not take it apart yet. I have seal AM 586T and gasket M506T. Is there anything else I should do while I have it apart? thanks.

I have done it without taking radiator off. Its a tight fit though and requires some fancy work with the allen wrench to get it tight.

I pulled the radiator, put new seal in pump and put it back on the tractor, filled the hydraulic but have not tested it yet, hope it works.
