My 2440 started running a lot oil out the shaft seal on the pump. I disassembled the pump today and found two grooves wore in where the seal sits. Will these grooves affect the new seal? Does anybody make a repair sleeve to fit over the shaft to smooth it out, like on a on a harmonic balancer pulley on a car? Any other tips to fix this? Thanks

IMHO the grooves in shaft will limit seal from stopping the oil leak.

You might find a speedi-sleeve of that size but I dont know how pressure would be in that area. You might use red locktite on it.
