3020 Powershift Not coming out of Park

71 3020 powershift , parking paw not fully releasing. Have tried lubing at shifter and at side of case but sometimes it doesn't fully release. Try putting it in park and start out again and it will be fine other times it will not fully disengage and ticks, so put it back in park and start again. Is shifter worn or cable stretched or just take cable off and put it in bucket full of oil and soak it?

The Park Pawl spring is broken #9 in the pic R76504

The spring i'm talking about is on the "inside"..and I would bet strong on that is your problem..

That was my Thoughts....no one wants to think about going inside,, but it's under the top cover,,not too bad to get to..Fix it now,, it will dubb the edges off the park teeth and you will really be sorry...

I know on my PS, whenever I come out of park, I have to make sure the shifter lever goes all the way up till it bumps the separator in the shifter pattern. If I fudge it over before then, it will still be in park and can go into a forward or reverse gear at the same time. In other words it just needs that full range of motion to ensure it's fully out of park. Probably a stretched cable or wear in the shifter itself.

For sticky power shift and 3pt cables take the platform off and spray with Kroil a few times as you work the lever,,this stuff is good..and it soaks into the cable housing nicely..It is good to give them a shot of Kroil every now and then,,the stop cables too...

Brazed area worn on end of cable at #18 on diagram, and added washer under cotter key. Cleaned up with brake cleaner then soaked with Gibbs. Seems to have made the difference. So far it hasn't hung up again even parked on hill and it released. See how it does raking today.

Those cables get forgotten,,till they start moving hard....heavy oil won't penetrate the ceasing like the thin Kroil does..

I had a 4440 PS that occasionally would not fully disengage park and would "tick" as you say. The shift quadrant had become worn from the shift lever coming from forward or reverse going toward park.
With this wear in the quadrant when the shift lever was coming out of park the lever could move to the side into forward or reverse before shifting fully out of park. Bumping the separator when coming out of park as newgenjdcollector said would fully release park.

Mine had gotten to where it wouldn?t go into park I re adjusted the cable and then sprayed liquid wrench on all the exposed cable both ends and the shift linkage buy the lever works good as new now
