Hello all first time posting on the forum here. My family has owned this tractor since 1965.

I am looking to put power steering and a loader on this just like it seems allot of guys want to do. Been doing a bunch of reading and have a few questions. Can any one explain the differences between loader models. I see that a 35,36,36A,46,46A or 47 may fit.

What type of loader work are you looking to do ? I'd recommend going and getting another tractor with a loader allready on it ready to go. Recommendations sort of depend on how heavy of use you plan to give one and any lifting weight requirements.

Welcome to YT
I think JD model 46/46A are too large to fit a 1010 correctly because they were designed for larger tractors built at the Waterloo factory

I second this. I have found a lot of uses for my 1010RS, which is smaller than the S, but still it is a light tractor and your lifting capacity will be limited. If you are trying to buy an original loader finding all of the parts, in good usable shape, may also prove a task not worth the time and effort.

Just really always wanted a tractor with a loader. Getting another tractor really is not an option.

Uses would be pushing snow around in the winter time. Also just moving small amounts of dirt around the yard.. Nothing major..

Let me warn you that if it doesn't already have the parts, putting in factory power steering is going to be really difficult and expensive. Power steering parts are hard to find, and when you do find them, they're expensive. You may spend the same amount putting all that in as you would getting another tractor. Not trying to dog your machine, I have a RS model, but that's just the way parts are for power steering right now. I don't know much about the loaders so I cant comment on cost/parts availability with that.
