Mine looks different than the part diagram! There is no 35 and when I remove 27 to check the bolts that come loose or disappear I see two bolts instead!

Pure speculation on my part, but the top pipe plug (Key 35) may be the fill plug and the bottom pipe plug (Key 39) may be the drain plug.

I must apologize. I forgot about the change during production. Early models had 1 bolt and later models had two like your's. The parts book shows the serial break.

Look at #31, it is made for 2 bolts. You have orig assy that was used to end of vertical 2 cyl production.

Your speculation is correct.

Our 40U is configured the same.
