JD-B Valves

I'm trying to wring a little more out of my 41-B.I am told I can use A exhaust valves for my intakes and B intakes for my exhaust. It's kinda an old school way of gittin a little but its also budget friendly. Can anyone give me a little more detail on how this is done, and what I need to do it?

That sounds like what a fellow puller several years ago on their early styled B. BUT, this was a Heisler head and not an OEM head. If I remember correctly, unstyled A valves were used because they have a 7/16 stem and the B had a 7/16 stem. Styled A used 1/2" stem. I don't remember if the stem length and keeper groove had to be modified or not.

Unless you are boring/stroking/etc, in my opinion you are doing a lot of work and spending a lot of money for minimal gain.

I dont really want to get into the bottom end right now, I know I can get more 'bang for the buck' there but since the head is off now I wanted to get a little done now. It's only used in our local pulls to have a little fun with and I don't want to get into big stuff now.I understand it's not the best idea to do half a motor because often no real benefit is realised without the entire job being done. But I was just thinking some simple mods now may pay off bigger next year.
