I am trying to change the rims on my 730 and I have all the nuts off the bolts for the clamps, but no matter how hard I beat on the bolts, I can't seem to get them to move, and I am using a big heavy hammer.
Three or four were so rusted that when I tried to remove the nuts, the bolts broke off flush with the rim. I have sprayed them with PB Blaster and let them sit over night , but still no luck.
Do you think heat might work here? I am kind of afraid to put heat to the bolt because of fear the cast iron rim might crack due to different expansion rates then steel. Right now I am in the process of cutting off the old rim so I can get a better angle to beat on the bolts better. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
