Last week I posted about my mower stays in the up position. I removed the trans top again, nothing missing or out of place. I replaced the top again, and it worked up and down. What I believe what is happening is the part called the cam follower is bouncing out of it's slot. I was going over some rough ground the mower was bouncing a lot. that's when it happened. I will take care over rough ground. At least the top was easier this time to remove, no surprises. Stan

Adjust the internal linkage. That follower should not be able to "bounce" out of position unless some thing is adjusted wrong or broke. It is under spring tension. Not a lot but still tension. When adjusting it make sure to tape your socket to the long extension you need to reach the adjustment. IF you drop it in that back housing I have had to take the PTO shaft out to get to the socket.
