Blown fuse on a 530 LP

Suddenly my fuse blows every time I hit the starter button on my 530 LP. Worked great day before!

530LP has power feed from Ammeter to ignition switch fused (Key #11).

As you asked you question, you say the fuse blows when you press the starter button, which should rule out the "fuel strainer", as DEERE called Key #4, which is powered as soon as the ignition is switched "ON".

Could be a short in the starter solenoid or the black wire to it, pressing the starter button also bypasses the ignition ballast resistor, so a short in the ignition coil or power wiring to it would cause a larger power draw when the starter button is pressed.

At this point, I'd disconnect the black wire from the "S" post on the starter solenoid, and see if the fuse still blows, narrowing it down to either the starter solenoid or other components or wiring.

Reviewed the diagram....I'm remembering the 520's but in the diagram...isn't the fuse protecting the charging system of the tractor...I see nothing relative to the starter button and this fuse...as I recall the 530 has the push on connectors....I see where the amp guage is the connection back to this fuse and the ignition switch plays a critical role. I'm wondering if the ignition switch is not shorting out...this was real problem with age...naturally I would check from shortage....

In the diagram, note that the fuse is in the wire that supplies the ignition switch with current from the Ammeter.

When switched "ON", the ignition switch supplies power to the starter pushbutton.
