Finally got the diesel 3010 back from the guy that fixed my PTO problem. Before the 3 point arms dropped when you shut down the tractor. Tried a new thermal relief valve didn't help. But they stayed up when running. Now they leak down while running with just the tongue weight of a pull behind mower. Any suggestions on where to start?

The most likely culprit would be seals on the 3-point lift cylinder.

Seems strange that your hotshot "mechanic" that could fix a PTO problem hasn't been more help with that issue???

I agree with Bob that more than likely rockshaft piston seal is leaking. RS piston seal can be replaced by R&R of piston housing cover. Another thing to check is lack of RS control valve clearances.

I was not impressed with the mechanic, he was recommended for good work just slow. 6 months for a 8 hour job was a little much. Thanks for the suggestion on where to start. I do have a John Deere service manual so I will start looking at it.
