Have a 2010 gas that needs a engine block I have a 59 45 round back with JD engine will it work or is it the same as 1010?

not sure where you at but i have a2010 gas stuck head been check is good valve need ground i am in west ky dawson springs bbrown56 at hotmail.com

I have a 1010 block which is I remember right is the same block as the 2010. I'm in Missouri. It is a bear block but may have bits and pieces of other parts

I'm in SwOkla old can you check the casting # if you don't mine. Ben do you just have the engine or whole tractor?

I'll try to remember to look tomorrow. It and what is left of the tractor is out in the fence row. The block is out of the tractor but out by what all I have of it other then want is still in my shop like air cleaner parts clutch flywheel etc.

The basic 144 cu.in combine engine is the same. You will need to use some of the parts off of your tractor engine to do the swap. Intake/exhaust manifold, governor and linkage, carburetor, flywheel, spacer plate between engine and clutch housing,(tractor uses 7/16 bolts for the spacer, combine uses 3/8 bolts on the lower section)front crankshaft pulley, coolant hoses and piping, fuel line, tachometer drive. Not a bad swap,I'm putting a 45 combine engine in a 1010 right now. Swap the tractor serial number plate from the tractor to the combine engine. Combine plate is on top of the bell housing, tractor plate is on right side of engine by oil filter. Keep the combine plate if you need to order engine parts in the future

I am not positive on this, BUT......

I know that the later 1010's and 2010's gas had the same casting number, T16277, but different part numbers for the engine blocks. If you look at the parts manual for the 1010 & 2010 they used different O-rings to seal the lower side of the sleeve. This tells me when they took a standard T16277 block, they machined it out according to the engine spec of a 1010 or 2010. I bet if you measured the ID of the O-ring surface they would be different size.

If both of you can confirm this it would be great to know!

Only found one set of numbers any place on the block. T-16277T is what I found. This block also has a place for a fuel pump so likely to have been a combine engine or some such thing

Measure the ID of the bore where the o-rings go. I feel confident that this bore will be smaller than the bore on same block that was used on a 2010

I'll do some looking and get back, this tractor we just bought the guy said it was getting water in oil, but for 500.00 couldn't pass up I have a good 1010

We went looking through our stuff and found a 215A windrower that still has the engine and is the 145 with the same casting number ,it's stuck , but between the two and some nos parts I have it should be rebuildable
