Bigger Steering wheel for 60?

I've got a 60 with manual steering and a 45 loader, not exactly the most fun combination.

It has the stock 3 spoke steering wheel right now. Does the larger four spoke steering wheel make enough of a difference to be worthwhile?

I have a four spoke wheel on my A that could be switched to my 60 loader tractor that has no PS. Could not make it steer any harder but I will agree it does steer hard especially when I was used to my 70D with PS as my loader tractor. Just went out and measured both steering wheels. Three spoke wheel measures 17 1/2 inches in diameter, four spoke measures 20 inches. I know this does not help you much but you could head down to Wooster this week and have a look around, should be pretty easy to find one.

If my 70D with powersteering had a trike front I'd consider switching the loader to that one, but alas it's a wide front and I like it too much to switch.

I'm going to watch out for cheap 4 spoke wheels, maybe I'll get lucky!

Brandon,

You might try calling Darwin Gingerich (620-386-0071) to see if he could bring one to the Wooster show this week but if he is coming he might already have left. Worth a try, I know he came to Springfield when the show was there. Always brings a large assortment of parts at reasonable prices.

I have a 20" four spoke on my 60 with a wide front. It helps a lot, but I am not using a loader. That increased size takes up significant space. It could get crowded up there with loader controls

A bigger steering wheel will help but very little especially when the loader has weight in it and the type of ground your on.
