Hi guys just ordered a head bolt kit for my 404 engine in 4230. I've got it manual which shows the torque sequence but don't know that the torque to 90 then run an hour and retorque to 130 ft lb is still the most up to date? Thanks

Just shooting from the hip here but I would hazard a guess that the ol' loosen & / or retorque method has been outdated for many years since the use of modern gaskets.......

If they are Deere bolts the dealer should give you a sheet to show you the design on the head of the bolt to determine the torque.

Take them down evenly in 3 steps using a circular pattern from the center out, to 130lbs and put the hood on it..use a paint stick and mark each bolt as you go so you can see that non were missed..

I did the loosen and retorque on my 4020 in 2003 and it?s
been fine ever since . Maybe not the most modern method but
that?s what I did
