John Deere M hydrolic oil in crankcase

Hi, I posted a week or so ago about getting gas in my crankcase, After switching to a known good carb I ran it for awhile and everything seemed fine. Then I filled the touch a matic and now my crankcase is overfilled again. Is it possible for the touch a matic oil to get into the crankcase? How hard is it to fix? Thanks.

Yes, fairly common, the seal is bad in your TouchOMatic pump, and it pumps the oil right into your engine. Take off the pump and replace the seal and you should be good. Of course it's not quite that simple

I'm not that much of a mechanic and I did it. You have to remove the grill, hood and radiator, then the pump is right there. If you are comfortable taking the pump apart, and being careful, keeping things clean, you should be able to

Pete, If you get it apart take a close look at the shaft where the old seal rode. You may have to install a speedy sleeve if there is a noticeable groove there.

My prediction is that a new seal will do the trick.
