Hi Guys. I was wondering if you could help me. My boss has a 457 silage special round baler with a mega wide pickup purchased in about 2007. He had some broken pickup teeth and asked me to replace them. I ordered the teeth and the local dealer got me part number FH304576. When I went to install them the angle of the teeth were off by about 15 to 20 degrees.(when rotated to the front of the pickup, they are sloped to dump the hay out forward, rather than sitting level) I looked online and decided I had the mega wide but not the mega pickup so went back in and they showed me part number E79475 but it also had the same angle as FH304576.
If you hold FH304576 on a desk by the clamping loop the teeth stick up at about 85 degrees, with the originals it is about 65 degrees. The originals are a round wire about 1/4" in diameter, coil outer diameter is about 1 3/4", overall length about 7", overall width about 3"
Did Deere decide to change the angle of its teeth, or do I simply have the wrong part numbers? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Alf.
