Plumbing loader into 3020 direct?

I have an early 3020 (hyd on dash) syncro trans that I want to run the loader valve direct instead of thru the rear hyd outlets. Will get pressure at fitting in front of brake valve. I want to run the return over to the housing behind the hyd filter. Which line do I want to tee the return into? The bottom one that goes to the hyd pump or the top fitting that is the rockshaft housing return? I have the option of the filter cover with a port but they make changing the hyd filter harder so I want to go direct. Thanks Tom

I know that changing the filter is a little harder with a ported filter cover but I still like that way the best. Mainly because you are protected by the filter from pushing any thing coming out of the loader circuit.

If you are going to tap into the lines you need to use the bottom one that goes to the pump. The other dumps back into the sump IRC.

Here's a photo of the FEL hose attached to line you inquired about.

Thanks for the reply and the pic. I have seen that pic many times but could not remember which fitting. My success at searching the archive on this site is not very good and my computer skills are even worse. Tom

(quoted from post at 23:06:05 06/11/18) You could put a coupler right at ported cover to make it easier to change filter.

This is how mine is set up. No trouble changing the filter at all
