removed 8 bolts that hold it down. bumped and freed. service manual does not show any dowel pins. front of unit is not freeing up. any internal linkage that has to be removed ? any dowel pins or whatever i am missing ? dont want to pry too hard & break something. thanks

IIRC one needs to pry on front of valve where bushing(key 23) fits into both housings. I think there is no dowel pins or linkage that's attached.

They stick tight,, pry under the rear a bit till it breaks loose,,I'm sure you got those 2 or 3 bolts down in the middle.. it will lift up off the cam follower, pay attention to how it goes into place,, the roller behind the cam..

you are correct that there is 9 bolts. i did not feel one in front. the one on side i had to drill hole with hole saw to be able to see and put grip tite socket on bolt. all were 9/16 but this one was so bad had to use 1/2. the spring was missing. will order one and put on new gaskets & o rings. new bolts as well. thanks for your help
