John Deere B Distributor Problem

For some reason the rotator on the distributor is hitting the contract point in the distributor cap and digging into it, but only on one side. The other side is normal looking with no wear. There does not seem to be up and down play in the shaft like I would expect if the bushing was bad, also if the bushing was bad I would expect it to hit both contact points in the cap. Any thoughts on what would cause this?

Also does anyone know the end play spec for the distributor shaft?

Look for side to side play and check for a bent shaft.

Wico or Delco ? The wico has a metal clip inside the rotor that does break and let them wobble. Delco maybe the cap isn't snapped on right ?
