LUC Power Unit Value

I have the opportunity to purchase a almost complete LUC unit missing only the drive pulley. Was a running unit when purchase by the current owner approx 20 yr ago. Been stored inside and free but fuel system is a mess. They are looking for a reasonable offer, I have no idea what to say, any ideas? Rod.

Around here, you wouldn't be able to get $50 for it.

If you really want it and don't want to insult the seller, go out on a limb and offer 'em $250 and hope they don't take it!

Sold a nice running one for $400 couple years ago.

Also remember that it is almost a direct replacement for a John Deere LA tractor. There are a good amount of parts in that engine and you could always part it out and at least get $250 back out of it. Not many around where I am in the Northeast and the few I have seen sell in running condition brought $400+
