what are your opinions on rebuilding a burned tractor? It got hot enough to burn the tires but the glass is still in the gauges
and shift and three point knobs are still intact. Should I run away?

It's rebuildable but would get expensive. I would pass cause the only thing worse than a burned tractor is a flood one. Neither are worth saving to me.

I've used parts from a similar burned tractor...transmission gears...probably use engine parts....it's not worth rebuilding as there is too much cost...hydraulics...it's just a cast iron parts tractor...transmission parts etc will bring premium so will block/heads/ etc....it's probably worth $600-$800 as a parts tractor...

Tires, all sheet metal, all electric, most hydraulic, rad, gas tank......yeah, run really fast...Ben

I'm currently using a 630 that was worse than the one pictured. It was upside down, with all of the tires burned off of it. I overhauled it in 1976, and it's a good reliable tractor, but it is ugly. The hood is trash, so it is somewhat naked. Lots of work. We gave $600 for it, and spent another $500 - in 1976. You could easily triple those numbers today.

Run , or buy for scrap price and part it for a little profit. ALL the light guage metal will be warped past repair. You won't see just how extensively until you put shiny paint on it. This stuff isn't that "rare" yet..get a good one.
