I bought a set of John Deere front wheel weights (part number 1826R), This set is different from A1827R because that wheel weight has the notch for the valve stem. The Unstyled A parts manual mentions a j hook to mount this wheel weight . I strongly suspect this weight is for a steel wheel but I haven?t found any definite proof. I have some questions about mounting this this to the tractor wheel. Does it take 3 or 4 j bolts to mount? If it is 3 bolts what is the 4th hole for? Also did the use a square nut or a heavy hex nut? What size J bolt did they use? The holes are 3/4 of an inch but I haven?t found a supplier of j bolts of that size and the largest I found was 5/8 of an inch bolts. What manual discusses these wheel weights? I found mention of the J bolt for mounting in the Unstyled A parts manual but no mention of the part number for the wheel weight or the wheel weight. The Unstyled A book by Wes Malcolm also doesn?t mention this option. I could only find very limited references about these wheel weights and was wondering how many sets are out there. Thanks for your help.
