Looking to take the hood off my 70 diesel does the steering shaft go out the front or out the back don't want to scratch the hood, what is the easiest way?

It's power steering, does that bushing have to be removed on the pedestal by the dash

Like WTW said , remove this roll pin and slide the steering shaft out the back.
