replacement carbs on Dubuque engines

Has anyone on here had any experience with one of those generic re[placement carbs that are sold for replacement on the Dubuque engines going back to the JD M tractor ??

You will need to be a little more specific. There is a Zenith which has been available for a long time. It doesn't look right but it functions. There are now replacement Marvel Sheibler carbs coming from China I've been told. Don't have a clue about the quality. I remember reading about someone buying the MS patents so they could reproduce them a while back. I assume these are the results. If so they have the original blueprints so they should be fine.

I believe that was Ray Beutel and as far as I have heard, all he has is the rights to the "Marvel Schebler" name and that is all. I don't believe he has any affiliation with the china stuff because they cannot and do not have any name and /or made in USA. Hopefully he resists the temptation ($$$$) to sell to them. There's plenty of re-built originals out there and also re-builders. Resist the "new is better" temptation from back in the "real" days as we all should know better by now.

My M had a new Zenith ? on it when I got it. It ran really good but I did not like that the air cleaner hose would not hook up correctly. I found an original MS off a 40 and rebuilt it and put it on and it runs good too.
