R Model Coolant Channels

If the pony is no longer on the R and you cap off the two water jackets that are on the top of the crank case along with the supply from the radiator, does the main engine still get full cooling? Is there any loss.

I'm rebuilding the pony and have everything capped and would like to pull it off and run. Will I encounter heating issues

I'm NOT able to address your concerns.....around 1975>1977 I Installed a 24 Volt Starter (Cat Engine G333 ) on my JD "R", the Conversion was excellent:

At the time,I plumbed the TWO coolant ports on the "Diesel Block" that supplied coolant to the Starting Engine to each other, then up to the small coolant port on the Top Rad Core.

There are other ports to plug off as well.Such as Starting Engine Oil DRAIN port:

There is an add as per below ....."TWO-CYLINDER Magazine MAY-JUNE 2018

I have NO financial or personal gain as per the add.

Thanks for the drawing. From what I can tell, I think it will be ok. The head feeds into the block and back around. But there would be a small portion of crank case that doesn't have good flow. Probably best to just wait till the pony is back on. I've thought about the conversation. But for 1500 I could have the pony fully rebuilt.
