My John Deere D140 (which has only 50 hours of total running time) stalls and shuts off after running 20-25 minutes. It has been doing this consistently for one & a half years, especially in warm weather. Last year I actually had my J.D dealer pick up the tractor, and they said they "weren't able to observe the problem'" and charged me $150 anyway.
Recently, I removed the engine housing cover and checked for mice nests covering the cooling fins, but that's not the problem.
I'm kind of all thumbs, and am generally not confident enough to start dismantling components, but I am wondering:
Is there a thermal shut off switch that perhaps has gone bad?
If so, where might that be?
Or perhaps my carburator choke is sticking?
Very frustrating
