OK - the short version of my request - Where and who should I go to get a new set of rings for my A????
Long version ----- My A siezed up and quit. I discovered the #1 rod had spot welded itself to the crankshaft. I took the pistons, rods and crankshaft out. The rod had spot welded itself to the crankshaft. I took the pistons, rods and crankshaft out. My finding inside was the babbit had melted and splattered everywhere.
The parts A that I have had rods, pistons and crank in good shape. The parts A has bearing shells installed. My plan is to install these parts into my newer tractor.
I am not too sure on what to do about the rings. Measure the original pistons which appear to be stock size or measure the bore whiich I'm sure has some wear.
The pistons that came out of my parts tractor are 125 thousands over size. If I were to use them I would have to bore the block.
Any advice or suggestions???
