On them front crank pulleys on the l and la are they cast or steel. Iv seen them ears for the crank for starting worn and broke off and this l one needs fix or replaced. Thanks
 
John Deere uses cast steel , if you have the pieces you could braze it . One from a salvage yard, pretty sure the pulleys from tractors and don't forget combine engines as well.
 
Looks like the pulley for the "L", #AL2352T, is cast iron...

If you GOOGLE the part numbers, you'll find a NOS pulley for the "LA", and reproduction pulleys for the "L".
