Hello. I have a John Deere 2020 gas tractor. The lights on the dash will no light up with I turn the key switch on. I have replaced the key switch; however does not seem like it is getting power somehow. Battery is fully charged. Is this something like the voltage regulator being bad?

"Is this something like the voltage regulator being bad?"

No.

You apparently have an open circuit in the wiring to the key switch between the "hot" post on the starter solenoid (where the battery cable connects) and the switch. Could be a loose connection, broken wire or wire terminal, there's possibly a multi-pin connector and perhaps a circuit breaker involved in that circuit, a wiring diagram sure would help, but I don't have one at hand.

This is a long shot, could the ground cable connections be corroded? Check for high resistance or hot spots.

An inexpensive multimeter--probably less
than $15 at walmart-- can be very helpful
in identifying the source of problems like
this.

Thank you to everyone with there suggestions. It was a wiring issue a wire that went from the starter to the alternator was broken not allowing voltage to be applied to the starter. Thanks again!
