John Deere 3020 drawbar support

I was pulling my round Baler down the road when I heard a snap and looked back to find my Baler dragging. The drawbar support broke under the sway blocks where the drawbar swings and I guess the force also snapped the support up under where you pin the drawbar to slide it in and out. Question is I need this quick so can I take the load shaft out and drive the pin out where that whole frame pivots and take the supper to a good welding shop and get it beefed up or should I call salvage yards. Thanks for any insight also how hard is that pin gonna be to drive out to remove the whole a frame support?

I would get one from a salvage yard. You may get a good repair but I would always be leery of it. I have a drill that is tongue heavy, I built a drawbar support to make it stronger. From the drawbar hole in front of the pin hole, I used a heavy turnbuckle
to the toplink mount. Works good.

I would get used parts rather than weld up the old ones. I did just change one out on a 2510 that had been welded and it was a good job. The front pin is not hard to get out. A big hammer and a punch and few hard hits usually does it. While it is apart replace the front pin and the bushing. Where are you located? I have the A frame off a 3020 parts tractor that I would sell for $150. I am in southwest WI. I might even have a good used carrier as well. The carriers might be available aftermarket new as well. While it is apart I would replace load shaft, seals and bushings. Tom

If you can find the casting number , I have a couple new old stock supports I could see if they would fit

(quoted from post at 23:23:17 05/09/18) I?ll have to look tomorrow. I know jd part number for the big support is AR3255 and for the rear support AR32495

Correction on PN for large support which should be AR32555(casting # R33882)

After you get it fixed I would make a support bar from the 3 point hitch that goes under the drawbar to give it more support

When you get another rear support weld another flat bar
across underneath and drill holes for pins.

Go to Ebay. There is an auction ending tonight that has the parts you need that you should be able to buy very reasonable. It would be next week untill I could get mine off. Tom
