4440 running warm

My 4440 is running warmer this year than it has in the past . The gauge was in the upper part of the white . I took it home and cleaned the ac condenser and the radiator. It t went down a little but it use to run in the green. Installed a new cap. and that helped a little too. The radiator was redone 4 years ago and I put on new heater hoses and new antifreeze this spring. Last summer I had a oil leak and oiled up the radiator and ac condenser bad. I have cleaned it 3 times now using a cleaner that is for aluminum and I have all the oil off. I combed the fins. Could the thermostat be sticking?

If the belts got oiled they may be new and tight and still slipping. How about the thermostats? When were they replaced last? They could be part of the issue. Did you pull the radiator and clean it after it got oiled? On my fil's 4630, 4320, and my 4430 we pull the radiator every couple years to clean them. You think you do a good job with it in the tractor, but the amount of dirt and other crud that comes out says otherwise.

(quoted from post at 23:04:14 05/07/18) Does a 4440 have a viscous fan drive? If so, that might be failing.

NO viscous fan drive wasn't offered until 50 series. Viscous fan on my 4255 has had a "lock up kit" installed on fan drive since '93
