John Deere 40 generator removal

The original subject was "Re: John Deere MT generator question".

I have a john deere 40 with the same generator. I am currently trying to remove it from my engine block. There is this long bolt that goes through the bottom of the generator though part of the engine block with a spacer and nut in between. The spacer looks like it is attatched to the spacer. Anyone know how to get this out?

Take a look at the [b:654c4848f0]GENERATOR[/b:654c4848f0] diagram below.

Note the lock washer (Key 46), pivot stud (Key 47), and 4" cap screw (Key 48).

Take a look at the photo below of the pivot stud.

Note the lock nut on the 4" cap screw is not OEM.

Remove the 4" cap screw from the pivot stud.

Remove the 4" cap screw from the block.

Scroll down the list to locate [b:654c4848f0]862 - 40 Series Tractor[/b:654c4848f0] then click the link.

Once the parts catalog pdf document opens, click the [b:654c4848f0]Download[/b:654c4848f0] icon.

After the [b:654c4848f0]Opening[/b:654c4848f0] dialog box opens, note the name of the pdf document to be downloaded, then click the [b:654c4848f0]OK[/b:654c4848f0] button.

At the bottom of the desktop screen, click the [b:654c4848f0]Start[/b:654c4848f0] icon.

At the bottom of the dialog box, type [b:654c4848f0]Downloads[/b:654c4848f0] in the text box that displays the words "[i:654c4848f0]Search programs and files[/i:654c4848f0]".

At the top of the dialog box, double-click to open the [b:654c4848f0]Downloads[/b:654c4848f0] file folder.

Locate the parts catalog [b:654c4848f0]PC0862[/b:654c4848f0] pdf document and double-click to open the document.
